There are many hemorrhoid treatments that claim that they will “cure” your hemorrhoid problem. While many of these products will treat your hemorrhoid symptoms and relieve your pain in the short term, most of them will not eliminate your condition.
The hemorrhoid “cure” is usually the elimination of chronic constipation. And to do that you can you can follow what I like to call the 4 W Plan: whole foods, water, walking and warm baths. I describe the 4 W Plan below.
Whole Foods
As we grow older many of us have found that the diet that we used to consume when we were young does not keep us regular any more. That means that we need to add more whole, fibrous foods to our diet. Incorporating whole foods helps our digestive system to work efficiently so that constipation (usually the cause of hemorrhoids) does not occur. Fibrous foods that help to promote regularity and decrease constipation include spinach, brussels sprouts, beets, dates and figs.
Water
You really must drink lots of water or non-caffeinated liquids every day to keep your digestive system lubricated. This is especially important as you add more fibrous foods to your diet. If you drink one glass of water when you get up, one when you come home from work and one before and after meals, you will have consumed 8 glasses a day. That amount of water will help soften and ease the passage of your stools thus saving the anal area from unnecessary friction and pressure.
Walking
Many people don’t like to, or have little time to exercise. However, even a short walk everyday will help you to move your bowels and rid your body of excess waste more easily. Try to walk 15-20 minutes a day and you will find that your digestive system works much better!
Warm Baths
A warm bath at the end of the day will help you relax and it will ease any pain you may be having from swollen or painful hemorrhoids. Some people find that adding epsom salts to a bath further reduces swelling. Pamper yourself with a nice warm bath every evening!
If you are looking for a hemorrhoid cure you may want to use some products such as creams and suppositories to reduce your pain and treat your hemorrhoid symptoms. However, to cure your condition you must make some lifestyle changes. Following the 4 W plan will help you cure your hemorrhoid problem!
