The Four W’s Hemorrhoid Cure

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009

There are many hemorrhoid treatments that claim that they will “cure” your hemorrhoid problem. While many of these products will treat your hemorrhoid symptoms and relieve your pain in the short term, most of them will not eliminate your condition.

The hemorrhoid “cure” is usually the elimination of chronic constipation. And to do that you can you can follow what I like to call the 4 W Plan: whole foods, water, walking and warm baths. I describe the 4 W Plan below.

Whole Foods

As we grow older many of us have found that the diet that we used to consume when we were young does not keep us regular any more. That means that we need to add more whole, fibrous foods to our diet. Incorporating whole foods helps our digestive system to work efficiently so that constipation (usually the cause of hemorrhoids) does not occur. Fibrous foods that help to promote regularity and decrease constipation include spinach, brussels sprouts, beets, dates and figs.

Water

You really must drink lots of water or non-caffeinated liquids every day to keep your digestive system lubricated. This is especially important as you add more fibrous foods to your diet. If you drink one glass of water when you get up, one when you come home from work and one before and after meals, you will have consumed 8 glasses a day. That amount of water will help soften and ease the passage of your stools thus saving the anal area from unnecessary friction and pressure.

Walking

Many people don’t like to, or have little time to exercise. However, even a short walk everyday will help you to move your bowels and rid your body of excess waste more easily. Try to walk 15-20 minutes a day and you will find that your digestive system works much better!

Warm Baths

A warm bath at the end of the day will help you relax and it will ease any pain you may be having from swollen or painful hemorrhoids. Some people find that adding epsom salts to a bath further reduces swelling. Pamper yourself with a nice warm bath every evening!

If you are looking for a hemorrhoid cure you may want to use some products such as creams and suppositories to reduce your pain and treat your hemorrhoid symptoms. However, to cure your condition you must make some lifestyle changes. Following the 4 W plan will help you cure your hemorrhoid problem!

Hemorrhoid Treatment – Which is Best Hemorrhoids Treatment

Friday, November 20th, 2009

Thousands around the world are known to suffer from hemorrhoids or piles these days. Hemorrhoids are actually expanded blood vessels formed in the anal region. Thankfully for all those suffering from this condition, there are numerous cures that are available these days.

If you were to compare hemorrhoids cures that are available today, you will find that most of the cases, the treatment is done on an outpatient basis. This has literally taken the fear factor out of piles nowadays. The severity of the condition would dictate the type of treatment for each individual. If you were to go to see the causes for the occurrence of piles in the first place, it is mainly a hereditary condition. Diet plays a major role in the development of hemorrhoids. Those who are prone to piles should consciously avoid certain food items including, sugar, wheat and diary products. They should also try and make certain lifestyle changes including, not sitting at a place for too long, not lifting heavy weights and not straining with bowel movement.

If you were to compare hemorrhoids cures of various types, you will find that the ‘rubber band ligation’ method is among the most extensively used. In this method as well as the ‘photocoagulation ‘method, outpatient treatment is enough and one can get back to normal activities in a matter of a day or two. ‘Cryosurgery’ is another medical procedure that is being widely used for curing piles these days. This method involves using a frozen ‘cryoprobe’ devise for destroying painful hemorrhoid tissues. If you were to compare hemorrhoids cures of various types you will find that with advancing medical technology most of them have become outpatient procedures, needing minimum hospitalization.

There are many natural remedies too that are available for treating this condition, that you can find through a simple online search. Many natural herbs are used for treating hemorrhoids including, Japanese pagoda tree extracts and horse chestnut. If you were to compare hemorrhoids cures, you will find out that more and more people are going in for natural remedies these days. This is because they are known to cause minimal side effect and offer great relief from pain and inflammation.

There are many lifestyle changes that can also help in fighting mild cases of hemorrhoids. One of the first things that you will need to do is to drink lots of water. You must also make sure to include plenty of fiber in your diet. This way you can avoid the occurrence of piles to a great extent.

Hemorrhoid Types

Anyone suffering from one of the types of hemorrhoid conditions – external or internal – should attempt a home hemorrhoid treatment remedy. An external occurrence, while painful, does not necessarily require a visit to a doctor unless acute, where blood clotting appears. Internal hemorrhoids usually cause no pain but can create quite an itch while causing a pressure-like sensation making it very difficult to clean the anus area properly. Internal conditions may also lead to bleeding sand possibly protruding from the anus as well. Internal are typically classified as :

What Hemorrhoid Treatment Can Be Used at Home?

First, the best and basic home hemorrhoid treatment involves a change in bowel habits. This would include preventing hemorrhoids from become worse through making sure to gently, but thoroughly, blot the anus after every bowel movement. Always use unscented, white paper that you may moisten just a bit with water or one of many commercially available cleansing agents. You can also try to use a commercially available medicated pad as well. Always avoid rubbing and never use a soap containing dyes and perfumes. This will only exacerbate the situation.

Symptom Relief

A great hemorrhoid treatment method toward obtaining temporary symptom relief is to apply ice to the area several times per day, Another recommended home treatment is the application of moist heat in the form of dampened towels using warm water. Also apply several times or, if possible, sit in a warm sitz bath several times per day.

Sitz Bath

This is a type of bath derives its name from the German, sitzen, which means to sit. A person immerses only up to the hips and buttocks. Although this bath can be either hot or cold, the hot version of this hydrotherapy technique provides help to increase blood flow to the pelvic area, thus reducing inflammation. It is especially as an effective hemorrhoid treatment used at home. Prepare a stitz bath for hemorrhoid treatment by filling a basin full enough to cover the hips and buttocks at least up to the navel area of the abdomen. Use a basin where sitting in the water is possible, while also using an additional basin with water a little warmer to immerse the feet. If this not available, make use of a standard bathtub for your sitz bath home hemorrhoid treatment.

It’s Also What Is Eaten

Associative hemorrhoid treatments should include increasing both fiber and water intake to the daily diet. Taking stool softeners is also recommended as this prevents constipation allowing for easier bowel movements and less irritation. A change in habits can lead to hemorrhoid treatment relief of many of the agonizing symptoms for both types. These practices may keep hemorrhoids from becoming larger and may even induce shrinkage, but they will not go away.
